It's Tuesday morning and we're due to close Thursday at 9:00. I have to keep reminding myself (and D) about what Mike said last week. "Next week you're going to think there's no way we're going to get done in time but we will. It will all happen." I'm staying away. It makes me too crazy. I just won't think about it. Then, like magic, on Thursday, it will all be done.

It's a sad, sad week. Our Sassy cat disappeared sometime yesterday morning during all the storms we had here. D let him in from the balcony early in the morning and left the door to the balcony cracked just like always so Sass could come and go as he pleased while D read the paper. I vaguely remember seeing and hearing him. He was meowing early as if he sensed the weather change. Just as D and I were both getting ready to leave for work (about 7:00) that horrible line of thunderstorms hit. The wind was blowing really hard and the rain was pouring down. D asked just before he went out of the door about Sassy. I told him that he was probably hiding which he's been doing the last few mornings--ever since we started packing boxes actually. I postphoned leaving because the rain was coming down so hard and 30 minutes later when the rain had finally slacked off, I left the balcony door cracked so Sass could get outside to his litter box later when the storm passed. D was home when I got here about 6:00 and no Sassy cat anywhere. We walked all around the apartment complex calling him and shaking his cat treats. We've put up posters and signs around the complex. I just hope and pray that someone has him in their apartment. The weather was so bad yesterday, I know if he was outside, he was scared to death. Sassy has been with us for 10 years, the longest that we've had any of our cats. This place feels so empty without him.

Leslye was sorely disappointed yesterday (as were we) when she went for her doc's appointment. He'd told her last week that if she hadn't had the baby by yesterday's appointment, he would induce. Well he decided against it and told her to come back to see him on Friday. Of course, that means there's no way I can be there if she has the baby between now and then. Leslye is understandly really upset that no one in her family will be there. Bless Dwayne and Linda--they went to Dallas Friday and spent the weekend with her. I believe that Linda thought she could walk that baby out of Leslye! When I talked to Dwayne early Saturday morning, he said that Linda and Leslye had walked to the bagel shop and that Linda was planning to make Leslye walk all day. Sunday they went to the zoo and the aboretum. Dwayne and Linda stayed over till Les got back from the doc yesterday with her news. I talked to Mom in Natchez and she said that she would go to Dallas if we wanted her to. Dwayne said that he'll go back up if it happens this week so we'll just wait and see. I'm turning it over to the Lord. It's definitely more than I can handle.
