Easter weekend and D's birthday. Happy birthday honey and may you have many many more in your new house. Gary and crew are still hard at work. Gary was working on Saturday! (Write it down, Teri!) D got to meet him on our regular Saturday trip to the country. They are really pushing to get done. My kitchen is looking so good. What a difference I saw Saturday. When they first started it looked really really small to me but somehow it got bigger again. It's going to be just perfect. I won't walk myself to death in it and I've got tons and tons of storage space. It's just spread out with some in the utility room and some in the butler's pantry. I'll have to give lots of thought to arrangement of dishes, glasses, etc. when we move. I went by Wilson's Hardware this week and began my selections there. I actually went by to just look but once Russell realized I had not been in yet, he whipped out his clipboard and said, "Let's get started." I wasn't much in the mood to make choices (Tracy, I sure could have used you) so really zipped through and left Eddie shaking his head saying, "That's the fastest that anybody has ever gotten through this process." I'll go back next week to take another look and maybe take some stuff out to the house if they allow that. Brass, brushed brass, pewter, chrome, wooden, ceramic, the choices are endless! And so, it seems, are the things I need knobs, handles and pulls for. Quiet week, quiet Easter, and quiet birthday for D. The weather is gray and rainy which is really good. It discourages us from being outside. We spent lots of time reading and I got more sewing done for Leslye's nursury. So far we've got a comforter for the crib, diaper caddy and most of a dust ruffle. Yes dear, it will get finished in time! I promise. |
