Another major week. It's a brick house! (kinda sorta-some of it). D drove over Tuesday this week to check our mail which we've forwarded to our new address. Plantation has those little postal stations so we only had to change addresses once. No mail but the shutters had been put on the house AND...our windows. So of course we had to drive back over on Wednesday evening so I could see. Joyce Currie and Judy Miller, two of our down-the-street neighbors, were taking a tour when we arrived. We picked their brains about water filters and tv arrangements (dish vs cable). We were surprised (and pleased) to learn that there is a little cable company (Friendship Cable) that Judy says is just fine.

I love my windows, I love my windows! They are sooo cool. The middle sash slides down (rather than up) on the front windows and they all have pop-out removable grills and tilt sashes for easy cleaning!

Teri called Friday morning to let us know that the sheetrock had not come in yet. It was supposed to be in Thursday but...backordered. There's so much building going on right now I think we're really lucky that this is the first time we've run into this problem. (Lucky and we have a very organized and efficient builder and staff who think and plan way ahead.) I know Mike is fit to be tied. He was cruising!

D and I made another trip over Friday evening. It was pretty dark when we got there but they've started going up with the brick. Looks really good--what we could see. All the insulation is in. Oh my gosh, and our columns are up. They are so beautiful! They just make the house. Can't wait to get back over this morning to take pictures.

I met with Lucy at Creative Lighting on Wednesday this week to start selecting light fixtures. This was a task I have really been dreading. I'd gotten a catalog several months ago from them. There was one light fixture in the whole catalog that I really liked. Well that's all it took. I showed that fixture to Lucy and she immediately knew what I would like and not like. She's great. I found out that the light fixtures look really different "in person" vs the way they look in the catalogs. It was nice to have them hanging in the showroom. You get a much better idea of size and color.
